Latisse is magicWhat is the fascination with long eyelashes? Women have known for ages that the bat of an eyelash can accomplish more than the spoken word.. The ancient Egyptians used kohl to darken their eyelashes. The Victorians, who abhorred makeup, even massaged castor oil into their lashes to enhance their natural beauty. Soon T.L. Williams created the first commercial mascara and named it after his sister – Mabel (you might have heard of the still-popular Maybelline!)
Well ladies this is 2009 and the great news is that there is a new product called Latisse that transforms lashes into the dramatic fringe everyone lusts after. It’s time to get out of the stone ages. No more tricky false eyelashes slipping out of place. No more maintenance for extensions!
After a recent visit to 3000BC I left with a prescription for Latisse. If you haven’t heard the buzz, Latisse is a prescription medication designed to grow your natural lashes. You can see before and after pictures at www.latisse.com. The active ingredient in Latisse was originally used in a medication to treat glaucoma. During studies of the product it was noted that patients were experiencing significant (and by that I mean va va voom) eyelash growth.
It’s really simple. You just brush a drop of Latisse above each lash line before you go to bed each night. I go through my normal cleansing routine, dab on my eye cream and the last thing I do is apply my Latisse. It takes about two to four months to see results because you have to give the lashes time to grow, but I am waiting (who am I kidding I am checking my lashes in the mirror all the time) anxiously to see the results.
I will be posting more about my Latisse experience and tracking my progress with photos, but if you’re just dying to grow you own goddess lashes I would recommend dropping into 3000 BC and talking with someone about Latisse today!
